You can style your hair perfectly and watch it change within minutes of stepping outside. It is not the styling that failed. Malaysian air simply carries a lot of water, and hair responds to that.
Hair is thirstier than it looks
Hair naturally takes up moisture from the air around it. When the air is very humid, the outer layer of the strand — the cuticle — lifts slightly as water moves in. A lifted cuticle scatters light instead of reflecting it, which is why hair looks dull as well as fluffy, and why strands catch on each other and tangle.
Hair that is already dry or damaged takes up water faster and swells more, which is why frizz is usually worst at the ends and on hair that has been coloured or heat-styled.
Two things actually help
The first is a barrier. If the strand has a smooth protective layer on the outside, the cuticle stays flatter and less water moves in and out. Phenyl Trimethicone does this — it smooths the hair surface and gives it a coating that keeps hair more controlled in humidity.
The second is condition. Hair that is already well moisturised has less to gain from the air. Squalane mimics the hair’s natural lipids to moisturise deeply and reduce brittleness, and hydrolyzed keratin strengthens weakened strands and smooths rough or porous hair. A botanical oil blend of argan, macadamia and others improves manageability and shine.
How to apply it so it does not go heavy
- Use a small amount — less than you think you need
- Rub it between your palms first so it spreads evenly
- Work from the mid-lengths down to the ends
- Avoid the scalp — this is a strand product, not a root product
- Do not rinse, then style as usual
Frizz is not a styling failure. It is your hair reacting to the air.
If your ends also feel dry and tangled after washing, the frizz serum works better alongside the Hair Repair Mask than on its own — one repairs, the other protects what was repaired.
