For years, the beauty industry treated hair odour like a temporary annoyance — something to be ignored or covered up with heavy perfumes and floral mists. We noticed a common struggle among women, especially those wearing hijabs or living in humid climates: the “kepam” struggle.

02Everyone watched the symptom
We realised that everyone was focused on the symptom — the smell — but no one was looking at the source: the scalp environment. We found that traditional products were actually contributing to the problem by clogging pores, disrupting the scalp’s microbiome, and creating a breeding ground for odour-causing bacteria.
